We removed the wall that separated the kitchen from the living room and installed a beam. The ceiling height is one level after removing the soffit. We have installed recessed lighting and pendant lights to brighten the space. We designed, built and finished the custom cabinetry to provide storage and function by incorporating a large pantry next to one of the refrigerators, mud room cabinets at the end of the kitchen and buffet cabinets in the dining area. The shiplap on the mud room cabinets and the kitchen island cabinets provides visual interest. The dining room buffet cabinets have a butcher block countertop and white subway tile backsplash. The butler’s pantry has become an extension of the kitchen by removing the wall that separated the space from the kitchen. The butler’s pantry cabinets have been painted grey with white quartz countertops and Calacatta Gold Italian Marble Herringbone backsplash tile.
